Within Irish mythology, Carman was a goddess of evil magic. Her ternion sons were Dub ("darkness"), Dother ("evil") & Dian ("violence"). It rampaged across Ireland.
A Tuatha Dé Danann warred against Carman and her sons. Bechuille, a right sorceress, was eventually entity to kill her. Her sons were flushed & Carman was chained, at length death of grief.
Within historical days the festival named after her, Óenach Carman, was held within Wexford.
